The short answer: a 3 tier wedding cake price at Sweet E’s starts at $650 for 48 servings, moves to $720 for 78 servings, and reaches $950 for my largest three-tier size at 115 servings. Every three-tier cake is fully custom, baked in my Provo studio, and delivered with on-site styling anywhere in Utah. The final figure is shaped by your design details, delivery location, and 3% sales tax.

Three tiers is the size most couples picture when they picture a wedding cake, and it is the size I quote most often. Below are the real 2026 starting prices by tier dimension, what each size serves, how tall the cake stands, what the investment includes, and how to decide between three tiers and the sizes on either side. 3 Tier Wedding Cake Price by Size

These are my real starting prices for round three-tier cakes. Sizes are listed by tier diameter in inches, servings are counted in wedding-style slices, and each starting price reflects a custom design at that scale. The details you choose shape the rest.

What Shapes the Price of a Three-Tier Cake

Tier sizes. The diameters you choose set the starting price, because they set the servings. A 4, 6 and 8 inch cake is the classic intimate three-tier; the 8, 10 and 12 inch size feeds a full ballroom on its own. Between them, the 6, 8 and 10 inch cake at 78 servings is the natural fit for weddings of 75 to 100 guests.

Design detail. Buttercream florals, hand-painted botanicals, pleats and textures, sugar flowers, pressed blooms, a sculpted bow: three tiers gives a designer fifteen inches of canvas, and intricate work across all of it is where the investment grows beyond the starting number. A quietly elegant cake with one considered gesture sits closest to the starting price.

Delivery and setup. Every three-tier cake is delivered and styled on site by me, and that service is quoted by location. I am based in Provo and deliver to venues throughout Utah, from Salt Lake City ballrooms to mountain lodges, and I travel for destination weddings.

Sales tax. Utah adds 3% to the cake, which I list plainly on every quote so there are no surprises on the final invoice.

What a Three-Tier Investment Includes

Every multi-tier wedding cake at Sweet E’s includes a tasting, a one-on-one design consultation, and a complimentary mini anniversary cake baked fresh for your first anniversary. The $50 tasting, three cakes and three fillings, is complimentary with any order over $300, which means it is included with every three-tier cake. Because the anniversary cake is baked fresh a year later, you never need to hold back the top tier, and all 48 to 115 servings are servings your guests can enjoy on the night.

How Tall Is a 3 Tier Wedding Cake?

Each tier stands about 5 inches tall, so a three-tier wedding cake is roughly 15 inches of cake before the stand, topper, or florals. On a pedestal stand it fills a standard cake table beautifully and photographs with real presence, without the ceiling height a four- or five-tier cake asks for. At the design consultation I check your venue’s table, light, and backdrop, then build the cake to hold the room.

Is Three Tiers the Right Size for Your Guest Count?

Size the cake to the number of guests in the room when it is cut, not to the invitation list. Around 50 guests, the 4, 6 and 8 inch three-tier at 48 servings is the natural fit. Around 100 guests, the 8, 10 and 12 inch size at 115 servings covers the room on its own. For counts that land between sizes, a supplemental 10-inch kitchen cake adds 38 servings for $100, sliced behind the scenes and served alongside your display cake, which is a far more considered way to serve everyone than stepping up an entire tier.
