The Color Collection

Soft pink, worn quietly: in the buttercream, in a ribbon, or in a single sugar rose.

Blush wedding cakes carry a soft, warm pink somewhere between ivory and dusty rose, and on my cakes that color can live in the buttercream itself, in a fondant bow, or in the florals. Most couples invest $650 to $1,200 in their wedding cake; two-tier designs start from $450 for 20 to 60 servings, and detailed blush work usually lands above the starting price for its size.

Below are ten real blush cakes from my Provo studio, delivered to weddings across Utah, and what makes each one work. If you are still collecting ideas, my wedding cake ideas guide and the blush and soft neutrals gallery are good companions, and every size and serving count is listed with my wedding cake prices.

What Makes Blush Wedding Cakes Feel Timeless

Blush is the color I see couples settle on when they want warmth without committing to a bold palette. It flatters candlelight, it sits beautifully next to ivory linens and gold flatware, and it photographs as soft rather than sweet. The trick is restraint. One pink note, carried with confidence, reads far more elegant than three shades competing for attention.

That pink note can sit in three places, and choosing where is the first real design decision. Tinting the buttercream turns the whole cake into the color. Keeping the tiers white and letting the blush arrive through flowers or a ribbon gives you a brighter cake with a soft accent. A mix of the two, such as pale pink tiers with ivory sugar roses, is where many of my favorite cakes land.

Three Ways to Wear Blush on a Wedding Cake

Approach How It Reads Example
Blush buttercream tiers The whole cake carries the color, finished with pearls, lace or florals Pearl three-tier
A blush statement detail White tiers with one strong pink element, such as a fondant bow Ribbon bow
Blush in the florals Ivory tiers with sugar roses, palette-knife blooms or fresh roses Sugar flower cascade
Blush texture Color built into piped ruffles or rosettes, so the finish is the design Ruffle rosettes

Blush Wedding Cakes from Real Utah Celebrations

Tinted tiers with pearls. The first cake in the carousel is pale pink from top to bottom, scattered with pearls and finished with a few fresh blooms on each tier. Set on a silver pedestal, it is the clearest picture of blush as the main color.

The ribbon bow. A tall white cake with a sweeping pink fondant bow is blush at its most graphic: one gesture, nothing else. If bows are on your board, my guide to wedding cake decorations covers how pearls, bows and texture each carry a design.

Ruffled rosettes at Snowpine Lodge. For a wedding at Snowpine Lodge in Alta, the blush is the texture itself: two tiers covered in piped ruffle roses, so the color and the craft are the same thing.

Sugar flowers at Eldredge Manor. A white three-tier with a cascade of blush, nude and deep plum sugar flowers shows how blush works as a supporting tone. The deeper petals give it shape. If you are weighing sugar against fresh, I compare both in sugar flowers or fresh flowers.

Semi-naked with blush roses at Twenty & Creek. Blush also softens a rustic cake. A semi-naked three-tier with a cascade of blush and cream roses kept the look relaxed and still finished.

The rest of the set runs from palette-knife blooms on white buttercream to a peach-leaning two-tier touched with gold leaf, which also appears among my gold wedding cakes. For a lighter, multi-color take on the same mood, see pastel wedding cakes, and for blush as the only color on a white cake, white wedding cakes shows how far one accent can go.

Pricing a Blush Wedding Cake

Most couples invest $650 to $1,200 in their wedding cake, and larger or more detailed designs go beyond that. Tier count and servings set the base: two tiers from $450 for 20 to 60 servings, three tiers from $650 for 48 to 115, and four and five tiers from $875 for 85 to 210. Sugar flowers, hand-piped ruffles and large fondant bows add studio time, so most detailed blush designs land above the starting price for their size. Delivery is quoted by location, and Utah’s 3% sales tax is added to the final price.

Blush Wedding Cake Questions

What color is a blush wedding cake?

Blush is a soft, warm pink that sits between ivory and dusty rose. On my cakes it can tint the buttercream itself, appear as a single fondant bow, or arrive through sugar flowers and fresh roses on white tiers. The shade is settled during your design consultation, alongside your palette and florals.

How much does a blush wedding cake cost?

Most couples invest $650 to $1,200 in their wedding cake. Two tiers start from $450 for 20 to 60 servings, three tiers from $650 for 48 to 115, and four and five tiers from $875 for 85 to 210. Sugar flowers, ruffles and large bows add studio time, and delivery and 3% Utah sales tax are quoted with your cake.

Can the blush be in the flowers instead of the frosting?

Yes. Many of my blush cakes keep the tiers white or ivory and let the pink arrive through sugar roses, palette-knife blooms or fresh flowers. That keeps the cake bright in photos while still tying it to your palette, and it pairs well with gold or pearl details.

Do you deliver blush wedding cakes across Utah?

Yes. I bake in Provo and deliver and style every wedding cake on site anywhere in Utah, from Utah County to Salt Lake City and the mountain venues, with destination travel available. Delivery is quoted by location so you see the full price before you book.
